Home Made Lovely- Jerusalem’s Home Tour
Welcome to Home Made Lovely! A weekly series featuring inspiring homes from all around the blogging community. I’ve asked each blogger the same question- “What does creating a lovely home mean to you?” Here’s what Jerusalem said…
Our home is a 1940’s cottage that looks like a ranch because of a small addition at one end.
My style is lived-in whimsy. A little cottage, a little industrial, a little school house, all very lived in.
I believe that a home should be a reflection of those who live in it and that the whole space should be lovely and useful. I don’t bring much into our home that we can’t use in some way. Also, I don’t bring much in that I worry about getting broken. Life with active boys is just that – active – and I don’t want to be the mom who is always saying “don’t touch that!” But I still believe strongly that you can have active kids and a lovely home. I also believe that you can do it on a tight budget. So many of the things in our house are hand-me-downs or side-of-the-street finds or from thrift stores. I don’t know that I have ever bough a piece of furniture at full price.
